This project is absolutely unique for its genre, as it includes not only working shifts, but also elements of town exploration. Lil’ Guardsman was developed by Hilltop Studios and published by the union of Versus Evil and tinyBuild on January 23, 2024.

The important aspect of the game that you need to memorise is the fact that on each individual you can spend no more than three actions points, which means that it is possible to either use some tools three times or interact with the person and ask them more about their intentions or other matters.

The decision to let somebody pass should be thoroughly considered and never a hasty action! Lil’ Guardsman lets you see the outcomes of each shift to evaluate how many criminals you have captured and who is now dwelling in the town. Spare a moment to stroll to the jail and learn more about the people, who you accused of some crimes, undoubtedly on the grounds of valid arguments.

Know your professional tools

In this game you will have a surprisingly wide variety of items to use during the interrogation. Despite being limited both with the number of actions and with the energy that each object consumes, you can still discover a lot with their help.

Decoder ring. This tiny golden ring is capable of stunning things and it will easily translate the unintelligible murmur of any creature.

Metal detector. An impressively large thing that will notify you if an individual carries something made of metal. Use it when looking for exceptionally dangerous items.

Truth spray. Just a little splash of this potion will be enough to extract the purest truth from anybody.

Bullwhip. This one may be questionable, but it has one of the rarest features, as it is capable of indicating the relics some cunning visitors may conceal.

Make friends everywhere!

Lil’ Guardsman is full of curious characters and each one is truly unique, having their own appearance, preferences and motives to enter the city. But firstly, you need to get acquainted with other members of society:

Lil. This funny and somewhat sarcastic girl is the main heroine of the game and you will have to put up with her personality. She may not be fond of the newly-acquired work, but it seems like she doesn’t have any other choice.

Hamish. Lil’s father is not the most serious man around, but he is still a soldier and the previous gatekeeper, who proudly has been accomplishing this mission for many years.

Stryker. Unlike Hamish, she is a very hard-working and strict woman, who managed to take the position of the captain of the guard.

Ashe. Although she doesn’t belong to the wardens, she has an important role as a court’s woman and royal advisor, so her announcements will often appear on the daily list.

Garby Bunches. He is a local trader and he will gladly sell you a couple of compelling objects, provided you have something to give him instead.
